I have been watching and visiting their world for about 5 years now. Perfect, no, growing, perhaps, but my gosh! what a lot of bells and whistles they offer. they were one of the first, so i guess they have to carry a lot of blame, a lot of hatred it seems, but come on! Bottom line they are a business, and most clients are business themselves, or want to be. That is something i think drove some members of the Emerald team, it is what so many are accusing LL of, greed and selfishness, but one must give LL the some credit. LL owes us nothing really, they created and support a huge concept, ground breaking in its expanse and scope, can we not give them a little credit? if it is not working for your personally, well then by all means move on. i do not blindly accept behavior of any kind. I look, consider, and search my options. The country i live in is not perfect, they have rules and laws that i find illogical and useless, but it is the world in which i live, and it changes constantly. Sometimes these changes are in response to the citizens, sometimes they are self serving and almost unbearable, but we carry on.
LL labs is a business, they have a gaggle of lawyers who advise on every move the company makes. if you were a shareholder, you might see a completely different story. Emerald was not a business, and that is not a bad thing, but they have to accept responsibility for making it harder for other TPVs to get a leg up. Basically, Emerald peed in the pool. Maybe the pool has it's own agenda, but fine, it is the pool.mmlphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10340489593190461000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362368250971968861.post-70309180910750531532010-09-05T00:42:14.508-07:002010-09-05T00:42:14.508-07:00To Mr. or Ms. Anonymous poster who so kindly refer...To Mr. or Ms. Anonymous poster who so kindly refers to me as "you people"....

Now that I've had the opportunity to read that post since it was not showing at the time you accused the blog owner of deleting it, I'm at a complete loss for how you can refer to it as "constructive but pointed criticism." Nothing about my blog defends Emerald, and specifically states it deserved what it got. In fact, given the purpose of my blog was to snap some heads out of the Emerald "fog," and get people looking beyond Emerald to what LL's intentions are with respect to all TPVs, your response merely proves necessity of writing it. I still hear you talking about Emerald and LL's actions against it, yet the whole point of my blog is their new requirement that they intend to apply to ALL Third-Party Viewers. This is not misconception, mmlp, it's their stated intent and they simply have not made it public as of yet. It is something that people should be questioning and debating now as it will affect everyone who uses TPVs.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17969793312828359536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362368250971968861.post-15544306019248124172010-09-04T23:27:55.436-07:002010-09-04T23:27:55.436-07:00Mindy, by threat i was referring to 'until the...Mindy, by threat i was referring to 'until the users are willing to remind them of what a vacated Second Life would be like'. Actually i like a lot that you say, but i am sure you can see the reactions that are happening out there, people who believe that LL viewer 2 will be all that is available, that somehow LL were against Emerald. LL loved Emerald, as any business would that enhanced their client base experience. I do see what you are saying, but you do no service to rid us of bulldozers letting misconceptions prevail. And Pilot, do your homework, there are plenty of viewers, beta 2 is not being forced down your throat, it is only an option.mmlphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10340489593190461000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362368250971968861.post-21417696645677753122010-09-04T19:03:41.757-07:002010-09-04T19:03:41.757-07:00Thank you Mindy.

I can't delete anything here, and I'm equally unsure as to who you're directing that question to. I don't have to learn a lesson here and neither does the owner of the blog as we're merely reporting/commenting on what's transpired. When you say ...Oh and one more thing on that mmlp:

When you say the "act that is illegal throughout most of the world," you must be referring to the DDOS attack. My blog has nothing to do with that, because that attack had nothing to do with emkdu. I realize it's difficult for many not to conflate issues, because as it relates to Emerald, they're all interrelated in terms of trust and betrayals of that trust. That, of course, I understand. However, in order to discuss these issues from a purely intellectual level separate and apart from Emerald *meaning, big picture*, conflating them only blurs the reason and logic behind the discussions.Mindy Spiritornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362368250971968861.post-14614154878899063192010-09-04T17:52:53.377-07:002010-09-04T17:52:53.377-07:00Nice to see you are deleting anything negative any...Nice to see you are deleting anything negative anyone says, even constructive but pointed criticism. All you did was add to pile of LL bashing, selective 'truths' and again calling an act that is illegal through out most the world as an act that did not deserve the demands expected of it. I have been here for 5 years, seen the ups and downs, and Emerald antics were self serving at best, with no regard to their users. I know there were those who work heart and soul, with great love for the Emerald team, but the leadership was corrupt.
